Abbreviating plural and possessive metric units

Plurals

Metric units of weight and measure are the same in both the singular and plural.

mL (milliliter or milliliters)
cm (centimeter or centimeters)

Possessives

Units of measure cannot be in possession of another object and therefore should never be formed as possessives.
